About Me
I am a wildlife photography hobbyist currently based in Hertfordshire, England. Like most people that get into nature photography as a hobby or even the lucky few that do it professionally, I have always loved wildlife. I’ve always been curious about wildlife photography and was tempted to try it as a teenager, but the cost always put me off. I got my first DSLR when I turned 21 and had a kit lens and also got a 75-250mm lens. It was all very entry level, but it did give me a taste of photography. Fast forward about 10 years and I was finally earning enough to upgrade and try wildlife photography a bit more seriously. So, I bought a Sony A7iii and the 200-600mm lens. I did a lot of research between the main camera brands and from what I could find and the budget I had, this combo seemed to be the best for me.
After that I was hooked, when I started to see the results I could get with that lens and camera combination, I just wanted to capture as much as I could. So now I regularly go out for local walks to find the local wildlife and occasionally book trips to go and find something a bit special, just like my trip to the Isle of Mull, searching for white-tailed sea eagles. I generally enjoy being outside and hiking as well, so that goes hand in hand with wildlife photography. I enjoy these trips so much that I keep adding more and more to my bucket list, one destination that has been at the top of that list since I was a child is an African safari. I would love the opportunity to travel the Africa and see the big five and if I got photos of them as well it would be the icing on the cake.
